about

Gennessee is the muthaphukin HOMIE!! A huge heart and super talented. I mean SUPER. Genstarr is a special breed of artist. He does what he says he's going to do. He takes care of his business. He bends over backwards for his people. Plus he's equally talented on either side of the boards. I mean, this dude would make you a beat on his MPC and if you say "Oh shit. I could hear Redman on this.".... Gen would actually start rhyming on the shit..... sounding JUST LIKE the Redman!!! It's uncanny. He's like part Big Pun and part Rich Little (look it up, young buck).

Gen's clique, Noble House, is one of the strongest teams you'll find out here on the West. They got crazy dope emcees like L' Roneous, EL Rock, and Mr. Phame. They've got ill singers like Cait La D and Dogwood. And they're all good folks. We all go way back to the Independent hip-hop heydays so those are my folks.

Well, after having my heart completely crushed, stomped and pureed by a girlfriend when she left me, Gen let me know that there was a room opening up in the house he was renting. He and El Rock still lived there and they needed another roommate. One deposit later... Boom! I was in.

Noble House Studios was set up in the back of the crib and Gen would do pre-production in is room. Many days, I would come home from work and be greeted by one of Gen's bangers blasting down the hallway with 6 or 7 artists sitting in the living room vibing out.

It just so happened that I caught Gen on a day that he wasn't working on anybody's shit so I asked him to show me a couple of beats. I had the itch to pen something that day. Gen says, "Hold up. Let me finish chopping this sample and I'll show you a few things". From the moment I heard this sample, it was mine. By the time he had the sample chopped, flipped and layed down, I had damned finished my verse. Sometime during the my writing frenzy, El Rock wandered into the room like "WTF is that???". He grabbed a pen and it was on. The Riddla woke up on the couch in the living room and came in to find me and Rock feverishly writing. "Yall ain't gonna leave me out on this shit", he said. Grabbed a pad and got busy. When Gen turned around, all three of us were in mid-scribble. He knew he had a Noble House classic. Estrella got his verse together so quickly it was scary. We dropped all the verses that night. I did my verse and the hook last so nobody heard anyone else's part until the finished product was done.

I love this hip-hop shit!!
